Lake Alfred Wastewater Treatment Plant

The project consisted of the replacement of the existing 0.600 MGD trickling filter facility with a new 1.0 MGD modified activated sludge process WWTF. The project included adding a new pretreatment headworks, new 1.0 MGD rated WWTF, and new microscreen filtration. The existing trickling filter tank was converted to a 260,000 gallon equalization basin, and the two existing clarifiers were converted to aerated digesters/holding tanks. In addition, the primary clarifier was demolished, and the existing sand filters were modified and converted to a second chlorine contact chamber.
